Edgar Munsen's Test The Murderers' Trial Bucket Room

Confess, the truth will set you free.
— John's tape

The Murderers' Trial is one of Jigsaw's games in the Saw franchise, occurring in Jigsaw.

History[]

Original Test Subjects[]

The Original Murderers' trial

John Kramer preparing the game

The first five victims of this game were people who committed a crime but lied to the authorities in order to not be judged. The people tested were: Carly, a young woman who stole a lady's purse with her inhaler inside - ultimately leaving her to die of an asthma attack without it; Mitch, who sold a motorcycle with faulty brakes to John Kramer's nephew who was later hit by a truck as a result; Anna, who asphyxiated her baby in a state of despair and blamed her husband who later committed suicide by hanging himself; Ryan, who was responsible for the death of multiple people in an alcohol induced incident; and Logan, who was responsible for mixing up the x-rays of two people including John himself. Therefore, all of them were abducted by John Kramer, also known as Jigsaw. After subduing them, John took all of them to the Pig Farm and placed them in the first room with buckets on their heads and collars around their necks. (Jigsaw)

First Test[]

I'm sure you're all wondering why you're here. You deny culpability, no doubt for the circumstances in which you find yourselves. Salvation can be yours. If you cleanse yourselves of the habitual lies which have brought you here, lies that you have told yourselves, lies that have brutalized others, confess, the truth will set you free. But any attempt to violate my rules will kill you. I want to play a game. First an offering of blood, no matter how little will give you a green light to escape from this room with your lives. If you can release yourself from your demons, you can begin to shed the chains those demons bring with them. Should you not give the simple blood sacrifice that I have requested, you will face severe consequences. The choice is yours.

Bucket Head Trap Awakening

Carly wakes up in the trap

Before the game began, there was a timer at the top of the room that served as an alarm clock. When the timer reached 0, an alarm rang and the lights started to turn on. Carly, Anna, Mitch and Ryan jolted awake due to the ringing of the alarm and in a state of confusion, began to observe their surroundings. Carly was the first to notice that she had a bucket on her head and that she was chained up by her neck. Moments after realizing the danger she was in, Carly began to force the chain that was secured around her neck to remove it but to no avail. After a few seconds, Anna and Mitch also started trying to remove the buckets on their heads. When their attempts failed, Mitch began to examine the room and realized that there was a camera watching them, along with a wall full of saws in front of him. Anna started to get nervous while Carly started screaming for help as she slowly got up. Anna was the fourth person to stand up and she started to ask Ryan for help, only to be pushed by him. An audio began to play, drawing the attention of the four conscious test subjects. As the audio explained to them why they were being tested, Carly began to cry. Both Ryan and Mitch were clueless, so they listened to the audio while Anna slowly stood up as she listened. Mitch started to shout for help and hit the wall that was on the right side of him. Anna began to scream while she attempted to remove the chain on her neck after her failed attempt at removing the bucket. The audio stated that the truth would set them free, and that they should confess all the sins that caused them to be in that predicament. Ryan got annoyed and started swearing at the camera. The audio began to explain that the the way out of the first room was a blood offering, enough to change the colour of the red light that each test subject had on the upper part of the buckets on their heads. Carly continued to cry and again, struggled to remove the bucket from her head in a state of anger. Logan Nelson, the fifth participant of the game, was still unconscious, so did not hear the instructions, unlike Anna, Mitch, Ryan and Carly, who were starting to look for a way out while listening to what they had to do to rid of them of the buckets on their heads. Carly was still unsuccessfully trying to break her chain. Finally, the audio ended by saying that they had to make a decision - whether to "give the simple blood sacrifice" requested by Jigsaw or "face severe consequences" for ignoring his instructions.

Carly Bucket Head Jigsaw

Carly towards her wall of saws

The saws that were in front of the five test subjects began to roll and the chains pulled the test subjects towards them. The four conscious participants began screaming and struggling so as not to be pulled towards the saws in front of them. Anna and Carly sat back on the floor to try and resist the pull of the chains, whereas Ryan and Mitch stood by while everyone was dragged forward - including Logan Nelson, who was still asleep. Mitch decided to support himself with a column that was next to him to avoid being dragged. Anna stood up again while Carly, who was next to Logan, tried to wake him by patting him on the back and screaming at him; he remained unconscious. Mitch decided to hit his saw wall with his chain but this caused him to fall to the floor due to the friction of the contact between the chains and the saws. Anna recalled what the instructions said and put her right arm in front of her. She moved slowly towards her saw wall and cut her arm with one of the saws. Her blood fell to the floor and the light on her bucket changed from red to green This meant that she could remove the bucket from her head, so she did; her saws also stopped spinning. Anna decided to help Mitch by telling him to cut himself on the blades, insisting that it is the only way to be saved.

Mitch try cut his finger Jigsaw

Mitch tries to cut his finger

Anna helps Ryan by telling him to cut himself also. Mitch decided to cut his left index finger but his chains tugged him towards the saws, causing him to cut his right arm; this blood sacrifice meant that Mitch managed to get free of the bucket on his head. Ryan decided to cut his right arm, freeing him of the bucket on his head also. Ryan started screaming while looking at the cut on his arm. Finally Anna decided to lift Carly off the ground and yelled that she must be cut while holding her with her back to the saws. Seconds later, Carly's chains pulled her hard into the saws causing her to scream as she cut her back on the blades. Anna moved Carly away from the saws and removed the bucket from her head, as she too had made a blood sacrifice and therefore passed the trap.

John save Logan Nelson Jigsaw

John exempting Logan Nelson from the game

As the saw walls of Anna, Carly, Ryan and Mitch opened up to guide them to their second test, Logan woke up, confused by what was happening. The five test subjects were still being dragged forward by their chains - Mitch, Carly and Ryan were pulled out of the room and, although Anna shouted at Logan that he must cut himself to leave, Logan could not hear her because Anna was dragged out of the room also. As he didn't hear Anna's instructions, Logan did not understand what was happening and was cut, like Carly, on his back by the saws. While Carly, Anna, Mitch and Ryan were guided by the chains to their second test, John Kramer, who was behind the walk supervising the game through the cameras, left to help free Logan and exempt him from the trial because he did not stand a fair chance at the first test due to his unconsciousness. (Jigsaw)

Second Test[]

While I am certain that there is a desire to point fingers at me for the blood that has been shed, unless you turn that finger inward, I assure you, more blood will be lost and all will be judged. We will begin with one, one who is not only a liar but a thief, a purse snatcher, and when you had a chance to fix the harm that you had done, you chose to do nothing. Now it is you who could die without the right medication. While unconscious this deceiver among you, this criminal, was injected with a poison. One of the syringes in front of you holds the antidote, one is a saline solution, the other an acid that will cause an excruciating death. Inject the correct one and your chain will be released. Failure to make the right choice could result in death for you all. I ask you, what is a life worth to you?

The group in the second room

After the four remaining test subjects reached the second place, the doors of the saw walls were closed and the chains stopped pulling them. Carly quickly decided to touch her back and noticed that she was bleeding and started screaming, Anna decided to help Carly while asking her name. A mechanical ventriloquist puppet appeared in front of them with a sign that said 'confess'. Ryan exclaimed that he is not afraid, and seconds later the chains were activated again and the four test subjects were dragged forward. Ryan and Carly began to resist to try and avoid being dragged but to no avail. Anna decided to lean on a column with metal thorns that was next to her, but was still dragged forward, causing her to be cut by the sharp metal in the column. Mitch found a tape that said "Play Me" and tried to grab it before reaching one of the endpoints of the chains. When Mitch reached the tape, the endpoints of the chains broke, causing the chains to raise and form gallows.

Three syringes in a hanging plastic rack fell in front of Ryan. The audio tape explained that this test centred on a bag thief, and the four test subjects panicked when the audio tape said that the bag thief had a poison in their body. The tape further explained that one of the syringes contained the antidote, the second contained a saline solution and the third, a lethal acid. If the thief decided not to inject any of the three syringes, all four test subjects would be hung by their chains and die. When the audio tape ended, Mitch expressed that the thief must confess or all four of them would die. Anna suggested that, if the thief was injected with the poison, they might have marks on their body and that they should check. Everyone except Carly checked their bodies, causing the other three to suspect Carly. Ryan took the three needles and told her to choose a syringe. Mitch exclaimed that Carly has to inject the antidote so that the four could leave this test alive. Carly refused, worried that she might inject the acid. Anna told Carly that she need only confess, but Carly insisted that she did not kill anyone. Ryan angered at Carly, saying that she was not showing the attitude of regret that Jigsaw wanted.

Ryan talk with Carly Jigsaw

The group asks Carly to pick a syringe

After Carly admitted that she saw a woman die but it was not her fault, Ryan threatened her by telling her to choose a syringe else he would inject her with all three needles. Anna calmed Ryan, telling him that this was not the way to handle the situation. Mitch asked Carly if any of the numbers on the syringes reminded her of something, but due to the pressure that Ryan exercised on Carly, she could not concentrate. After a while Carly mentioned three dollars and fifty-three cents; Ryan immediately asks the meaning of the number, to which Carly responds, "what a life is worth to me", referring to the amount of money in the purse that she stole from the asthmatic woman, who died because of her theft.

Ryan and Carly fight Jigsaw

Ryan tries to inject the syringes to Carly

The chains began to move, but this time upwards. Ryan started to make Carly nervous by yelling at her to pick a syringe and inject it but Carly kept refusing. Even though Ryan reminded Carly that all four test subject would die if a syringe is not injected, Carly still refused. Mitch exclaimed that they were going to die while Anna tried to calm Ryan. As the four began to be hanged, Ryan grabbed Carly and screamed at her to inject a syringe, however Anna held Ryan back to prevent him from injecting Carly with all the syringes. Carly started evading Ryan's attempts to inject her with the syringes. As Anna and Ryan began to choke due to hanging by their chains, Carly managed to push away from Ryan, but the momentum brought her back. After several attempts by Carly to try and get away from Ryan, Ryan finally managed to inject all three syringes into her. This causes the collars around their necks to open, and the four test subjects to fall to the ground.

Carly death Jigsaw

Carly dead due to the injected acid

After the four recovered from the fall, Carly realized that Ryan injected her with all three syringes on the right side of her neck. Ryan, Anna and Mitch watched as Carly began to cry while bleeding from her neck, eyes and ears. After convulsing for a few seconds, Carly fell dead to the floor. Anna immediately started hitting Ryan and shouting at him for killing Carly. Ryan stopped Anna and shouted that all he did was save the lives of the other three, but Anna continued yelling at him. Mitch quickly stopped them and told them both to calm down. After calming down, Anna exclaimed, "three dollars and fifty-three cents". A disoriented Ryan asked the significance of those numbers and Anna replied that they were the numbers that Carly said before her death. Mitch decided to look for a syringe with 3.53 on it, while Anna removed her jacket and used it to cover Carly's face. (Jigsaw)

Security Trap[]

There are no short cuts in life. Please forgive the rather crude example I will make of your decision to not follow the rules. Pull the handle and you will be set free.

No Exit Door Jigsaw

No Exit Door

After Carly's death, Ryan, Mitch and Anna headed towards a door. They used a combination that Mitch had discovered on the syringe marked 3.53 to open the safe lock on the door and progress on to the next room. After the three remaining test subjects entered the new room, Ryan saw a chained door with "No Exit" written on it in red. However, he decided to take a shovel and try to open the door regardless. Unfortunately, when Ryan tried to open the door, he was stood on a false floorboard which broke, causing his foot to fall through and become wrapped in several thin metal wires while a sound was activated. Immediately Ryan began screaming in pain as the cables tightened around his leg over time. Mitch and Anna were surprised by what happened and quickly Mitch took the shovel from Ryan and began breaking another side of the false floorboard to try and save Ryan. Anna decided to continue widening the gap that Ryan created in the floorboard when his foot fell through and into the trap, causing her to discover a lever inside the trap that she claimed was most likely activated. Mitch broke another part of the floor and realized that there was an audio tape on the floor. However, it was under the wires that were continually tightening around Ryan's leg. Anna wanted to play the tape so Mitch decided to use a rake to reach it. However, when the rake was about to reach the audio tape, one of the tines of the rake touched the cable that was wrapped around Ryan's foot causing it to tighten more. Finally, the rake was destroyed due to contact with the cables, which caused Ryan's foot to start bleeding more. Ryan started to get upset and screamed at Mitch to grab the audio tape with his hands. Initially Mitch refused, but Ryan yelled at him and reminded him that he saved both him and Anna by injecting the three syringes into Carly's neck. Anna told Mitch to do it and Mitch decided to listen to Anna and Ryan, and so slowly removed the audio tape from the trap with his hand. When he managed to take out the audio tape, he calmed down. Ryan told Mitch to play the tape, but Mitch refused and told Ryan that he should play it. Mitch gave the audio tape to Ryan and he played it. When the audio tape was played, it explained that the only way to get free of the foot trap was to pull the lever. Ryan panicked and began to ask the others what he should do. Anna said he must pull the lever even though this would cause his leg to sever. Ryan started to cry at this while his foot was still held by the trap wires.

Mitch grabs the audio tape Jigsaw

Mitch grabs the audio tape

While Ryan's foot was tied up in the trap, Anna and Mitch decided to search for a way out. Anna decided to go to a window and see if there was an exit and Mitch decided to hit a door marked with several arrows indicating the way. Suddenly, the lights went out causing a small room with its door open to be illuminated. As Anna and Mitch headed towards the small room, Ryan started shouting that he would not confess anything and started hitting the ground. When Anna and Mitch entered the small room. Ryan noticed that there was a small screen lighting up in the same place where his foot was trapped. Mitch and Anna realized that there was a remote hanging in the small room. Mitch tried and failed to reach it by jumping. Ryan started shouting at Anna and Mitch that a TV screen had just turned on, however, Anna and Mitch didn't listen. Mitch suggested to Anna that he raise her so she could reach the TV remote. Anna agreed and Mitch boosted her up by her feet. Anna managed to grab the TV remote, but this caused a cable connected to it to be pulled, leading to the door to the room sealing closed behind them. Anna and Mitch started banging on the door that was closed to open it but it was in vain. Mitch decided to grab the remote control and pressed play on the TV screen, causing the mechanical ventriloquist puppet to appear and introduce them to their game. It told them that in their past, they had made mistakes but at that moment Ryan could make a decision, whether to let Anna and Mitch die or to pull the lever so that the three of them would be free at the cost of losing his leg.

In the past you have all put your own interests above others and then lie to yourselves and deceived the world about your callousness, your larceny, your criminality. Now you will look in the mirror and you face who you really are. The choices you have made may cost you your life. You can not escape from the truth. There is however one person who can help you, Ryan. If he pulls the lever before you're buried alive, you will live. Ryan, free yourself to free them.

Leg Wires and Grain Silo Trap Jigsaw

Ryan watching Anna and Mitch

When the message ended, the two screens turn off and reactivate seconds later, displaying security camera feed. Anna and Mitch could see Ryan on the screen that was in the room that they were trapped in and Ryan can see Anna and Mitch on the screen that was in the trap where his foot was. Seconds later, sand grains began to fall into the small room where Anna and Mitch were through two slits above them. Ryan watched as Anna and Mitch were slowly being buried and started shouting, asking what was going on in the other room. Mitch responded that it was grain and Anna desperately began to yell at Ryan to save them. Ryan protested and exclaims that he cannot do it. Mitch began to hit the wall and Anna began to knock on the door, both searching for an exit but finding none. Ryan looked at the lever and tried to grab it but regretted it. Slowly Anna and Mitch began to be buried by the grains of sand and both continued to scream to Ryan for help. Mitch yelled at Ryan to pull the lever to save them. Ryan attempted to pull the lever but at the last moment, he hesitated and cursed at the security camera that was behind him watching him. Finally, the sand grains stopped falling onto Anna and Mitch, leaving the two of them buried up to their necks in sand. Seconds later a rake fell in front of Mitch from the ceiling and he started to scream, being heard by Ryan who gets nervous. A saw and a knife fell in front of Anna, causing her to back off in order to save herself. Two knives fell in front of Mitch, one landing in his left shoulder. Ryan began to sweat and to think about pulling the lever but he continued to hesitate. Another circular saw fell in front of Anna, almost cutting her face and prompting her to start screaming Ryan's name, imploring him to save her. Mitch managed to remove the knife that was buried in his left shoulder and threw it away from him. Anna and Mitch started yelling at Ryan to pull the lever but Ryan still hesitated.

Ryan's severed foot

While Anna was yelling at Ryan a shovel fell in front of her, followed by three nails which impale her right arm. Ryan tried again to pull the lever but hesitates once more. Finally, several sharp items including grapples, nails, saws, rakes and shovels began falling to the sides of Mitch and Anna. Ryan started screaming and managed to pull the lever, causing his leg to be cut into three pieces, while he screamed in excruciating pain. The lights turned back on and the door with the right path and the door to the sand room both opened. As the sand flowed out of the room, Anna and Mitch left. Ryan lied down where he was and lost consciousness from the immense pain from his severed leg. (Jigsaw)

Third Test[]

Hello, Mitch. You've admitted to selling a boy a motorcycle. But you've not told the entire story, have you? Six-hundred dollars for a bike that you listed in excellent condition, even though you knew the brakes were faulty. You took his 600 bucks and in return you delivered him to his end. He was my nephew, and he never hurt anyone. The device you see here has a unique power source. It's the same engine that graced the bike you sold my nephew. However I assure you, the brake lever for this one works perfectly. Avoid the dangers around you. Hit the motorcycle brake handle and the motor will stop. Live or die, Mitch, the choice is yours.

The Cycle Trap

Anna and Mitch decided to leave Ryan resting so he could recover from the loss of his foot and find a way out that could keep all three of them alive. While looking for a way out, Mitch found a tape with his name and Anna wanted him to play it. When Mitch played the tape, a harness on the floor wrapped around Mitch's legs and began to raise him. While Mitch was lifted by the harness, Anna tried to help him but in vain. John's voice began to speak through the tape, saying that Mitch has not told the whole truth. John said that Mitch knowingly sold a motorcycle with a faulty brake lever to his nephew, while falsely saying that it was in excellent condition. When John's nephew was driving on the motorcycle, he tried to brake but, due to the faulty brakes, the motorbike did not stop, causing him to be hit by a truck and killed. John added that Mitch would be put to the test with the same motorcycle engine that was in John's nephew's motorcycle, but emphasised that the brake level for the trap was perfectly functional. If Mitch did not hit the brake handle while descending inside of the narrowing spiral trap which the brake lever was at the bottom of, he would be cut by the trap.

The Cycle Trap Begins

The trap begins

After the tape ended, Mitch began descending into the spiral while screaming and asking for forgiveness from John Kramer for being the cause of the death of his nephew. Anna decided to help save Mitch by looking for a metal rod and a way to get to the motorcycle so she could stop it and save Mitch. Mitch carefully tried to get to the motorcycle's brake to pass his test while Anna managed to get to the top of the trap by climbing a column of barn wood. Mitch encouraged Anna to save him by screaming desperately as he slowly descended into the spiral. Mitch managed to reach the brake of the motorcycle with one of his hands however, as the spiral was so narrow he cannot reach to grab the brake of the motorcycle, causing it to move and Mitch to cut his arm. Anna finally arrived at the motorcycle and, using the metal rod she had grabbed, braked the motorcycle by inserting the metal rod in the rear tire. This caused the trap to stop and Mitch and Anna to calm down for a few moments. Mitch thanked Anna for saving him and asked her to help him out, but Anna decided to rest for a few seconds without noticing that the power of the bike was about to break the metal rod. When the metal bar was split in half by the rim of the motorcycle, the trap was activated again. The spinning blades cut Mitch all over his body since he was in the narrowest part of the spiral. Mitch's blood sprays all over, reaching Anna's face when his body is cut off of his legs. His corpse fell out of the narrow end of the trap and landed next to Ryan who woke up and is baffled by the noise. He noticed Mitch's corpse and started screaming in horror. (Jigsaw)

Final Test[]

After Mitch's death, Anna found a way out of the barn. However, she was abducted again by John Kramer, who sedated her and took her to another room inside the Pig Farm with Ryan. When the pair awoke, they found themselves chained at either end of the room by an ankle, and accompanied by John Kramer.

Now if you want to achieve your freedom, you have to learn. You have to realize that you've been doing it backwards. So, I'm gonna give you an opportunity to turn it all around. Here's your key to freedom. It's all up to you. Now the game's simple, best ones are, you have one shotgun, you have one shell. Like I said, it's up to you.
— John Kramer explains the Final Test to Anna and Ryan

Aftermath[]

Ryan and the key Jigsaw

Ryan finding his key

When Anna and Ryan woke up, the former identified their captor as John Kramer, her neighbour. John explained their respective reasons for being tested, before saying that they had been getting things "backwards". John held up a shotgun shell, saying it was their "key to freedom", before loading it into a shotgun found in the room and leaving. Anna misinterpreted this and attempted to shoot Ryan, thinking that it was how she was supposed to free herself. In a state of panic, Ryan suddenly realized the shotgun was going to shoot backwards after recalling John's word "backwards" in his explanation for the trap, and attempted to warn Anna. However, Anna pulled the trigger causing the gun to backfire and shoot Anna in the head, killing her. After that, Ryan noticed that there were two keys in the shell, but they were shattered when Anna pulled the trigger. Ryan realized that John was speaking literally about the shell being their key to freedom. With no way to escape from the room, it is presumed that Ryan eventually dies of dehydration or from blood loss.

Replica[]

The Murderers' trial Replica

Logan Nelson preparing the new game

Ten years after John Kramer, the original Jigsaw, created his first game, Logan Nelson, one of the first test subjects of the game, who later became the successor of Jigsaw decided to replicate the first game. The five victims of this new game were: Edgar Munsen, responsible for the death of Logan Nelson's wife; three Halloran clients (Malcolm Neale, Carly Look-a-Like and Mitch Look-a-Like), who committed a crime but went to Halloran not to be sent to jail; and Detective Brad Halloran, responsible for releasing several criminals including the other four test subjects. Therefore, the four Halloran clients were abducted by Logan Nelson, the successor of John Kramer, better known as the Jigsaw Killer. After subduing them, Logan placed three of Halloran's clients in the first room of the area and put a bucket on their heads and collar around the neck of each one of them, before putting Edgar Munsen in an abandoned warehouse by leaving him lying down before leaving. Later, after Halloran followed him to the Pig Farm, Logan abducted Halloran and put him in the Shotgun Keys room (the milking room of the farm). Finally, Logan pretended to be another test subject so that Halloran did not believe that he was the real culprit. (Jigsaw)

Introduction[]

Hello Edgar, you're about to play a game. Five lives are in your hands. Follow my instructions exactly.
— Edgar's tape
Edgar awakening Jigsaw

Edgar Munsen wakes up in his trap

When Edgar woke up, he noticed that he was in an abandoned warehouse and that next to him there was an audio tape with "Play Me" written on it. The audio tape provided the instructions for Edgar's test. At a certain time, he had to find a trigger and use it to start a game involving five people, who were trapped inside a barn outside the city. If he refused to do so, he would be killed.

Deciding to play the game, Edgar attracted the attention of the police, which resulted in a car chase. With his car, Edgar sped down the roads until his tyres were punctured by spike strips laid out by the police on the road. His car hit a street barrier, consisting of numerous water barrels and police vehicles. He smashed his window and climbed out of the car to continue his game on foot. Pursued by officers, Solomon and Palermo, Edgar eventually reached the warehouse where he previously received his instructions and made it to the rooftop. There, he noticed a red "X" drawn on a steel scaffold, which marked the position of the trigger. Just as he grabbed it, the officers arrived and aimed their guns at him. In the distance, Edgar saw a clock tower and told the officers that five people would die if they didn't call Halloran.

JigsawStill37

Edgar being chased by the SWAT

The officers did as he said. As the time passed, Edgar started to panic. However, Halloran finally arrived along with his colleague, Detective Keith Hunt. Edgar told him that he was given the choice to either start the game or die on his own. Halloran ordered his man to aim for the trigger and tried to convince Edgar to drop it, but as the time ran out, Edgar activated the trigger. The officers immediately shot the trigger. However, unnoticed by them, Logan was watching them from another rooftop nearby and shot Edgar in the chest with a sniper rifle. As Edgar collapsed, he told Halloran that the game had begun before he passed out due to his injury. (Jigsaw)

First Test[]

Minutes after Edgar was shot, Halloran's three clients woke up in a replica of the first Bucket Room. Carly Look-a-Like and Mitch Look-a-Like followed the instructions and cut some part of their body in order to continue living. However Malcolm Neale could not overcome the game, dying minutes later. The two remaining test subjects were thrown to their second test. (Jigsaw)

The games have started again and they will not end until the sins against the innocents have been amended. I'll take care of the next four. You take care of the others.

Second Test[]

Unnamed Woman Death Jigsaw

Death of the Carly Look-a-Like

The two remaining test subjects arrived at a replica of the original Chain Hangers. Moments later, a metallic contraption was lowered from the ceiling. The contraption held three syringes, each one marked with a different numerical sequence. After that, the prisoners received the instructions for their second test. The Carly Look-a-Like learned that she had been injected with a deadly poison before the start of the game and would die if she didn't get the right medication. One of the syringes contained the antidote, another one held a saline solution, and the last one was filled with an acid that would cause a painful death. If the woman chose the right one, both prisoners would be released from their chains.

The female prisoner picked up the syringes and took a look at the numbers. Ultimately, she decided to take the risk and chose the syringe, which she believed to be the right one. However, when she injected it into her neck, she realized that she had taken the wrong needle. In agony, she started to bleed from her neck. Unable to do anything, she collapsed as the acid ate its way through her skin, killing her. (Jigsaw)

And then there were three...

Third Test[]

The Mitch Look-a-Like arrived in the barn loading area, and bypassed the Grain Silo Trap (as Logan had not set it up for the recreated trial's test subjects). The Mitch Look-a-Like also avoided triggering the Leg Wires that Ryan had activated in the original game, though he ultimately perished in the Cycle Trap that killed Mitch. Because the Mitch Look-a-Like failed to activate the motorcycle brake at the bottom, he was shredded to death and expunged from the trap. (Jigsaw)

And then there were two...

Final Test[]

Hello, gentlemen. You came looking for the game. Congratulations, you've found it. You are the final two players. You may recognize the device around your collar, Dr. Nelson. These laser cutters slice through tissue and bone like butter. The most powerful blade on the planet. You both have an opportunity to live. All you need to do is confess. It's that easy. If you admit to the reason that you deserve to die, you can escape death. I will be listening. Make your choice. The game will select one of you to begin in 60 seconds... unless, of course, someone chooses to go first.
— The instruction tape that played through the loudspeaker

After Eleanor Bonneville found out the location of the barn, she and Logan went there to investigate it, but both were followed and ambushed by Halloran. Eleanor managed to escape, while Logan was knocked out and Halloran was attacked by an unseen assailant. Both men awakened in a room, wearing collars rigged with laser cutters. A loudspeaker informed them, in John Kramer's voice, that they were the last two players of the game, and that to survive their test they needed to confess the reason that they deserved to die. The voice also told them that they could choose who would face their test first. Halloran said that he would be the first, but forced Logan to go first instead, and Logan's lasers were activated. Panicking, Logan confessed that he mislabelled Kramer's X-Rays, which caused his cancer to go undiagnosed until it was too late. Despite confessing, Logan was seemingly killed anyway. Halloran's lasers were then activated, and he was told to confess. Desperate, Halloran confessed that he allowed criminals to walk free and that innocent people died because of him. His lasers were deactivated and Halloran appeared to have passed his test. (Jigsaw)

Aftermath[]

However, Halloran noticed that Logan's lasers did not cause burn marks on the ceiling, unlike his own. He also noticed that Logan's collar contained blood capsules, which had burst to make it look like Logan had been killed. Suddenly, Logan stood up, alive and unharmed. He revealed to a confused Halloran that he had faked his death only to trick him into confessing, and played a recording of his confession. Logan then explained how he recreated the game that had happened in the barn ten years prior, of which he was one of the players. He used three criminals that Halloran had previously let off for the replicas, leaving himself and Halloran as the final two players. Logan then reactivated Halloran's lasers and told him that he was going to die for letting Edgar walk free, which gave him the opportunity to kill Logan's wife. He also told him that he was going to frame Halloran as the new Jigsaw, with Eleanor providing his alibi. Logan declared how so many innocent people ended up on his table because of Halloran and that he would now speak for the lives ruined by such individuals. Halloran's head was sliced apart by the lasers, killing him, and Logan sealed his tomb with the words "I speak for the dead". (Jigsaw)

Trivia[]

  • Since each test subject had an individual test in addition to the Bucket Room, it is unknown what tests Logan Nelson, Anna and Ryan would have faced if they survived.
  • It is unknown if the replica that Logan Nelson made with his test subjects actually could be passed since the choices of the test subjects were off-screen except for Halloran and Edgar Munsen.
    • Edgar was killed by Logan to accuse Halloran that he was the real culprit of the new deaths.
    • Halloran's test could not be passed by him, since it was Logan's decision whether if Halloran could live or die.
