Biography

Death

Not much is known about Jacob Schmidt, though it can be assumed that he was either a patient or a worker of the Whitehurst Insane Asylum before it was closed. When he died, he was burried in the asylum's graveyard. Years later, his grave was used by John Kramer, better known as the Jigsaw Killer, for one of his games. This game focused on David Tapp, a discharged detective, who was obsessed with catching Jigsaw and therefore had to face a series of tests at Whitehurst. One part of his test required him to retrieve a key from a box, which was standing on the grave of his partner, Detective Steven Sing, who was burried in the same graveyard as Jacob. Additionally, every other grave, including his, had a box standing on it, which were connected to nail bombs that would explode if Tapp opened the wrong box. Eventually, Tapp successfully managed to obtain the key and left the graveyard behind. (Saw: The Video Game)
