Pighead is a fictional character from the Saw franchise. He was the secondary antagonist of Saw: The Video Game.

Biography[]

Recruitment[]

Not much is known about this man's past. However, one day he became an accomplice of John Kramer, better known as the Jigsaw Killer. When he was diagnosed with incurable cancer, the latter realized that he had only learned to cherish his life when his death was imminent. Because of this, John chose to spend the remaining time of his life testing other people's will to live, hoping that this would convince them to value their lives and the lives of those around them. Therefore, he became the Jigsaw Killer and started testing other people's will to survive by putting them in gruesome, potentially deadly situations. His accomplice joined his self-imposed mission and adopted the nickname Pighead due to the sinister pig mask he wore while preying on his victims. (Saw: The Video Game, Saw II: Flesh & Blood)

David Tapp's Trial[]

While working with Jigsaw, Pighead assisted him in setting up a game at the abandoned Whitehurst Insane Asylum. This game focused on David Tapp, a former homicide detective who became obsessed with Jigsaw after his partner, Detective Steven Sing, was killed in one of his traps. Disguised with a red cloak and his mask, Pighead oversaw Tapp's progress as the latter made his way through the asylum. He followed the former detective while he searched for a key to reach Amanda Young, a drug addict trapped in the asylum's surgical theater. Eventually, Tapp found the key on a small table. However, as he grabbed it, Pighead suddenly broke through the next door and sedated him. Afterward, he took his unconscious body to a different room near the surgical area. Amanda Young's Abduction[]

Shortly afterward, Tapp freed Amanda from one of Jigsaw's traps, and the captives continued their way together. Unbeknownst to them, Pighead followed them and was close on their heels. Upon leaving the surgical theater and moving on, they reached another door on a lower level of the asylum. However, it slammed shut behind him once Tapp passed it, separating him and Amanda. Moments later, the man with the pig mask attacked Amanda and dragged her away. (Saw: The Video Game)

The Shotgun Collar[]

Forced to continue his way alone, Tapp followed a direction sign leading to the janitor's office. When he passed another gate, Tapp was attacked and subdued by Pighead, who took him to a bathroom somewhere else in the building. While the detective was unconscious, Pighead locked an explosive collar around his neck. Tapp learned that his collar would be activated whenever he got too close to other victims in the asylum who wore the same collars. His only way to survive was to kill them or bring some distance between himself and the other victims. (Saw: The Video Game)

Melissa Sing's Test[]

Tapp eventually entered a small yard. Moments later, he was attacked by another prisoner, who threw Molotov cocktails at him from a canopy. However, Tapp was able to kill him before he could set the yard on fire. As he looked around the area, the detective witnessed Pighead through a window in a room above him while the latter brutally strangled another prisoner. After watching this disturbing scene, Tapp saved Melissa Sing, his late partner's widow, from another one of Jigsaw's traps. Melissa followed him to the Pine Ward, but after only a few minutes, she left him again. Before abandoning him, she stated that she could not forgive Tapp for her husband's death and that he deserved this game.

Shortly afterward, Jigsaw sent Pighead after her to force her to play another game. After subduing her, Pighead sewed her mouth shut and gave her an audiotape recorded by Jigsaw, which informed her that he had also abducted her son, Franklin. To save him, Melissa had to follow Jigsaw's instructions and keep Tapp on track until 6:00. Eager to see Franklin again, Melissa accepted her task and put several obstacles in Tapp's path. Death[]

From then on, Pighead began to interfere in Tapp's game. He lay in wait for him and frequently tried to attack him but was held back by several obstacles. On other occasions, he stalked him and killed other prisoners in his way. Jigsaw realized that his accomplice tried to sabotage Tapp's game to surpass his mentor. He warned Tapp of his former ally and told him he held the only key to escape Whitehurst.

Eventually, Tapp reached a yard, where he saw another prisoner trapped in a small fenced area. Pighead, while waiting for Tapp, pushed a button and energized the floor, killing the man behind the barrier. Afterward, he and Tapp engaged in a fight. However, as Pighead was a ruthless and capable opponent, Tapp was forced to keep him at a distance. Unable to defeat him by other means, Tapp eventually lured Pighead into the fenced area and closed the door behind him. Afterward, he pressed the button and fatally electrocuted his enemy. (Saw: The Video Game)

Post-Mortem[]

Following Pighead's death, Tapp searched his body and found the key. Later that night, Pighead's corpse was found by the Metropolitan Police Department after Tapp had chosen to let go of his pursuit of Jigsaw in exchange for the freedom of all the victims trapped at Whitehurst. (Saw: The Video Game, Saw II: Flesh & Blood)

Personality[]

Little can be said about Pighead's personality, primarily because he never spoke during his encounters with Tapp, and his motivation for helping Jigsaw was never revealed. As a result, Tapp assumed that Pighead might have been another victim who only followed Jigsaw's orders because he had been forced to do so. His behavior, however, suggested otherwise. Pighead repeatedly went against Jigsaw's rules throughout Tapp's game and killed several other prisoners in cold blood, indicating strong sadistic tendencies.
